Hi, I’m Gabi Forrester
I am passionate about herbs, nutrition, gut health and hormones.
I trained as a Naturopath and Herbalist with the College of Naturopathic Medicine and set up Natural Practices Clinic in 2002. Within 4 years I expanded into an integrative clinic with many Specialist Practitioners renting rooms from me.
I quickly noticed that being a Practitioner didn’t guarantee that they were good at conveying their health message to their client and directing them through the healing journey.
I realised that Clients wanted clear direction and someone to guide them through the overwhelm of the Natural Health field.
They had just been through the allopathic approach of seeing a Specialist for every symptom, and here was I charging one price and time slot for a Naturopathic Consultation, another price and time for a ‘Follow-up’, another price and time for Iridology, for Herbal Consultations etc
“Clients don’t know, nor do they care, about which service to choose- they just want their hand to be held and guided through the huge complex subject of Natural Health”.
I decided to be a truly holistic and integrative Practitioner titled my consultation a ‘Personalised Screening’ and bridged the gap in my business to offer the one service with multiple aspects.
My new treatment now follows a specific order:
I read the body whispers.
I define the root cause.
I Bridge the gap in knowledge.
I harmonise the body.
I am a Herbanist – a blend of Herbalist and Nutritionist!
I started lecturing for the College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2014, and by sitting and listening to countless consultations I realised that there is a huge gap in knowledge of how to really use herbs. I would hear “This client has exhaustion and anxiety, so I’m going to suggest Ashwagandha”, or “I’d like to put them on Milkthistle”.
Things we should be considering about the client before making herbal suggestions are:
Are they a hot or cold person? Are they expressing on their skin? What colour is their tongue coating? What colour are their eyes? Would you suggest that as capsules, loose powder, tincture, tea or glycerite?
Each client is completely individual and herbs react differently in certain people and in the way that the herb is prepared.
I decided to create Bridging the Gap between Nutrition and Herbs to remove the overwhelm and mystery surrounding herbal remedies and to help Practitioners to use market formulas such as A. Vogel, Indigo Herbs, Nutri Advanced, Biocare and Viridian in a safe and effective way.
